Matusadona National Park is one of northern Zimbabwe’s most remote wildernesses and is named after Matuzviadonha Hills, which create a striking contrast to the flat water frontage of Lake Kariba. This national park is situated on the lake’s southern shore and bordered by the Ume River on the west and the Sanyati River on the east, which offer a unique collection of habitats for a variety of mammal species.

As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it’s not hard to see why Mana Pools National Park is a well-known place to visit in Zimbabwe. You should know that this unique park has two ‘faces’. During the rainy season, the usual flood plains you see turn into a vast lake. This may also be the reason why canoe safaris, in particular, are popular here. With a Mana Pools safari, you’ll get the chance to see over 350 bird species, aquatic wildlife, and of course, some majestic land creatures!
